  3. I guess anyone could '....die down here, be just another accident statistic....' and there are plenty folks who '....try to stop me, shake me up in my mind....', but '....I’m pressing on....' = '....It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there....'

  4. Update: I've transferred everything to my website ( http://www.bluedjango.com ) and opened a couple of new YOUTUBE video pages. I'm currently working on a new album, and DVD which includes this song.

  5. I'm in the process of building a new Telecaster. This one is my dream machine. I've already got the neck. I ordered it from a guy in Canada who has them built in Korea to his specs. It's a fatboy profile (actually it's just a little thicker than these slim profile necks Fender has been making the past 45 years and feels more like a 50s neck.) It has a 1 3/4" nut width which is the exact same as Taylor and most other acoustic guitar makers use, so I can do more intricate chording. The 3-color sunburst body I ordered should get here by Monday. It'll have a Gibson LP toggle switch (something I've always done with my Teles) with the tone and volume knobs moved up closer to the switch for easier access with my pinky. I'm also on the outlook for a couple of quick taper pots so I won't have to roll them very far to go from 0 to 10 which makes volume swells and wah effects a breeze. I intend to have some brass saddles machined where the height adjustment screws don't go through the top. (I'll have to adjust them from the bottom). This will allow wider string spacing and I can cut grooves with a dremel tool for the strings to sit in without having to worry about bumping into the screw holes because there won't be any. I'll use a Texas Special in the front and a no-name brand lower output pickup in the rear that I've used for years. The front pickup does everything from smooth pop-jazz to SRV blues while the back pup does great twang for country-blues. Lastly, I intend to experiment with a hidden humbucker (probably a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the small Tele profile size) that will sit UNDER the pickguard in stealth mode. Those have a coil tap on them. If I like it, I may look for a 5-way switch to use with the three pickups. So, I'll have my front pickup for blues/jazz/pop, my rear pup for country/blues, and my center hidden pup for 70s style rock and also will have the coil tap come on automatically whenever I switch to the 2nd and 4th positions on the selector switch for Strat tones as well. it's going to be the EVERYTHING guitar!

    1. Now you got me all wired for sound -- it's been in the pipeline, filling time -- but now it's time to haul out the silver spaceship -- actually red like a rubber ball, but it's seriously in need of some tender love me do, too.

    2. I pretty much have all the parts now. Accidentally ordered the wrong pickguard though. I meant to get a 5-hole guard that was 3-ply with parchment on the outside and black in-between, but got a solid parchment one. I'm going to run a black magic marker around the rim to see if I can simulate the 3-ply look. Also had a little trouble with one of the tuners I ordered. It wasn't threaded right and wouldn't accept any of the bushings. They sent a replacement though and all is cool now. I hope I get to work on it some today.

    1. Yeah, there's a short video of it on my YT page. I haven't added the stealth pickup yet though. I'm not sure whether I really want that or not yet.
