The Bishop's Wife

Looking for a good Christmas holiday movie? The Christmas Story, It's A Wonderful Life, Scrooge, Miracle on 34th Street—those have been the big Christmas movies traditionally. Try The Bishop's Wife. I don't know why this movie hasn't been as popular as those others. It stars Cary Grant as an angel trying to help out a Bishop and his wife over the holidays. A great movie! Now playing at Hulu.

  1. I have this film, well I did, I lent it to my mom and dad a few years back. It is fantastic and really as good as 'It's a Wonderful Life' to me. I need to go check their shelf........

  3. I loved "The Bishops Wife" since I saw it as a little boy. For several years; I didn't know the title of the movie. After entering the world of the WWW; I discovered the name of this great movie.

I found a copy for sale on Amazon and ordered it for a few dollars - the shipping cost more than the movie. It had been printed in China - little did I know that the soundtrack was in CHINESE!

"The Bishop's Wife" in Chinese - humorous, and still entertaining! I was relieved when I eventually found how I could play the film in English.

I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The celebration of Christmas was complete while enjoying a classic version of "The Night Before Christmas" presented by Bell Telephone. I always enjoyed Mabel Beaton's Marionettes performing in the classic Christmas story. The second half of the program was of the The Nativity - the Birth of Jesus - such a special time with my family!
