Cynthia Nixon made waves this week among homos by saying that her decision to break things off with her boyfriend of fifteen years (and with whom she had children) and start a relationship with a woman eight years ago was a conscious choice.
"I understand that for many people it's not, but for me it's a choice, and you don't get to define my gayness for me," she said in the New York Times Magazine.
Of course queers everywhere are shaking in their collective boots that someone amongst their ranks finally told the truth about how they came to be homosexual--something the rest of the free world already had figured out long ago.
As one commentator at Yahoo said, "A group that's always demanding tolerance seems to be a bit devoid of it themselves. I guess that's something that's not a choice either."
